Jorge L. Castillo is the Founder and President of My Structural Engineer, LLC, where he leads with a vision rooted in safety, resilience, and innovation. With both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Civil Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, Jorge has dedicated his career to shaping the built environment through structural design, analysis, and retrofit solutions that withstand the demands of modern codes, harsh environments, and evolving client needs.
Over the past decade, Jorge has worked on a wide spectrum of projects across the
industrial, life sciences, commercial, residential, federal, and historic preservation
sectors.

Roberto X. Malavé is a driven Structural Designer and Engineering Project Manager
whose career seamlessly integrates structural engineering expertise with project
leadership and field inspection capabilities. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico and an Associate’s degree in Interior Design from the University of Puerto Rico, offering a distinctive blend of technical precision and aesthetic insight.
Roberto is certified in Steel Connection Design (IDEA StatiCa) and Structural Modelling (SkyCiv Engineering). He is proficient in industry-standard structural
analysis software, including RISA, ETABS, SAFE, IDEA StatiCa, and SkyCiv. His

Jorge L. Castillo is the Founder and President of My Structural Engineer, LLC, where he leads with a vision rooted in safety, resilience, and innovation. With both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Civil Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, Jorge has dedicated his career to shaping the built environment through structural design, analysis, and retrofit solutions that withstand the demands of modern codes, harsh environments, and evolving client needs.
Over the past decade, Jorge has worked on a wide spectrum of projects across the industrial, life sciences, commercial, residential, federal, and historic preservation sectors. His experience includes large-scale federal facility programs – such as structural safety inspections of over one hundred Department of Defense facilities following the Surfside condominium collapse – as well as confidential structural evaluations in complex marine and tidal environments. In these roles, he has developed expertise in diagnosing advanced deterioration, assessing seismic and wind vulnerabilities, and designing robust retrofit strategies to extend the life and safety of aging structures.
In the life sciences and medical manufacturing industry, Jorge has been Structural Engineer of Record for multiple high-stakes seismic retrofit and pollution abatement projects. These include major facility upgrades in the USA and Puerto Rico, where he designed seismic retrofits, blast-resistant structures, and MEP support infrastructure to meet EPA Method 204 and NESHAP regulations. His work has directly supported operational continuity in active industrial facilities while ensuring compliance with stringent environmental, safety, and building code requirements.
At My Structural Engineer, LLC, Jorge oversees projects from concept through completion – guiding structural analysis, developing specifications, producing construction documents, and providing construction administration, including field inspections and investigations. His technical expertise is enhanced by advanced proficiency in engineering tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, RISA, STAAD, ADAPT, MathCAD, Enercalc, TNX Tower, and Excel.
Jorge is licensed as both a Professional Engineer (P.E.) and a Structural Engineer (S.E.) in multiple U.S. states and territories, with project experience spanning the continental U.S., Puerto Rico, Guam, and Latin America. He also holds certifications as an SSI Open Water Diver and as a Post-Disaster SAP Evaluator (California OES Safety Assessment Program), reinforcing his readiness to respond to field challenges in diverse and demanding environments.
